About the Club
The Houston Gem and Mineral Society is one of the Houston area's premier organizations for rockhounds, lapidary artists, and mineral collectors. The club holds monthly meetings at its clubhouse on Brooklet Drive and publishes The Backbender's Gazette, a widely-read newsletter in the regional gem and mineral community. Members enjoy access to workshops, field trips, and an annual show each fall at the Humble Civic Center. The society is a member club of the South Central Federation of Mineralogical Societies (SCFMS), District 2.
